Up the Academy

On today's Pop Culture America with John and Dave we made our Oscar picks for tomorrow's big broadcast. Come bask in the sheer wrongness of it all!

Best Picture:

Dave -- Should win: Michael Clayton (in an almost-tie with Juno). Will win: No Country for Old Men.

Best Actor:

John -- Should win: George Clooney, Michael Clayton. Will win: Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood.

Dave -- Should win: Tommy Lee Jones, In the Valley of Elah. Will win: Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood.

Best Actress:

John -- Should win: Julie Christie, Away from Her. Will win: Julie Christie, Away from Her.

Dave -- Should win: Ellen Page, Juno. Will win: Julie Christie, Away from Her.

Best Supporting Actor:

John -- Should win: Hal Holbrook, Into the Wild. Will win: Hal Holbrook, Into the Wild.

Dave-- Should win: Tom Wilkinson, Michael Clayton. Will win: Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men.

Best Supporting Actress:

John -- Should win: Tilda Swinton, Michael Clayton. Will win: Ruby Dee, American Gangster.

Dave -- Should win: Ruby Dee, American Gangster. Will win: Amy Ryan, Gone Baby Gone.

Best Director:

For those of you scoring at home -- you sad, sad people -- only the "Will win" prediction counts as official. But I'll be very happy for Clooney and Swinton if they slip in.
